It delves into managed care, discussing organizational models, development challenges, ownership implications, actuarial concerns, and physician behavior management. Key focuses include medical service markets, medical inflation factors, and healthcare reform strategies. By applying micro and macroeconomic theories, it explores health care institutions, delivery systems, and their interaction with societal, legal, and political frameworks. Concepts like efficiency, production, and demand are related to health insurance, federal programs, and health policies. Students are equipped to further study these theories’ application to healthcare in future courses.
