ARC 2022 Architecture Studio II: Architectural Design Methods

Architecture Studio II advances introductory architectural design through increased programmatic complexity, contextual responsiveness, and structural integration. Building on Studio I, students refine orthographic, axonometric, and perspective representation while developing vertical spatial organization and structural assemblies as generative design elements. Projects emphasize iterative problem-solving informed by precedent analysis, material logic, and physical context. Greater rigor is placed on compositional clarity, spatial hierarchy, and disciplined critique. The semester culminates in a mid-program ePortfolio review that assesses representational growth, conceptual maturity, and readiness for upper-level studios.
