ARC 2021 Architecture Studio I: Architectural Design Methods

4 Hours

Prerequisites: ARC 1003   Corequisites: ARC 2020

Architecture Studio I advances students’ engagement with architectural design as a disciplined, iterative process. Building on the introductory Space and Representation studio, it strengthens representational fluency and the translation of conceptual ideas into coherent architectural proposals.Taken concurrently with ARC 2020, the studio integrates building and site, grounding design decisions in environmental and contextual awareness. Students refine skills in sketching, diagramming, orthographic drawing, perspective, and physical model-making. Through projects of controlled complexity, they internalize analysis, concept development, critique, and refinement as core architectural methods.
