Business Systems and Analytics Minor

The Business Systems and Analytics (BSA) minor equips non-business majors with essential skills to thrive in today’s data- and technology-driven economy. Grounded in the belief that data literacy is a critical competency across all disciplines, the BSA minor combines coursework in programming, systems, databases, analytics and cybersecurity to help students solve real-world problems using data-informed insights. The BSA minor positions graduates for a competitive edge in the job market, preparing them for high-demand roles where the ability to analyze and communicate data is key to organizational success.

Students begin by developing foundational technical competencies through courses in programming, database modeling and design, and visual analytics. From there, students tailor their learning with electives in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, project management, and more offering flexibility to align with personal interests and professional goals.

Technical Requirements:


Hours count in the BELL Core.

Total Required Hours: 18 Hours


Business minors are not intended for students pursing a B.B.A. degree. 

1ACC 2430   or ACC 2450  and BSA 2100   prerequisite requirement if student opts to take BSA 3300  

2MGT 3230   and BSA 2100   prerequisite requirement if student opts to take BSA 3860   (MGT 2410   prerequisite requirement for MGT 3230 )

3BSA 3300   or permission of instructor and BSA 2100   prerequisite requirement if student opts to take BSA 4730 .
