The MAT in Early Childhood Education, Integrated PreK-3 program prepares future educators to work effectively with diverse young learners, focusing on inclusive and culturally responsive practices. Designed for individuals aiming to make a significant impact in early childhood education, this program emphasizes hands-on experience, evidence-based teaching strategies, and a strong foundation in child development.

In place of a traditional culminating student teaching experience, this program incorporates a comprehensive, year-long internship. Throughout the year, candidates work closely with experienced mentor teachers in PreK-3 classrooms, gaining practical, real-world experience while gradually increasing their teaching responsibilities. This mentorship-based internship enables candidates to apply theory to practice continuously, develop critical teaching skills, and engage in reflective practice with ongoing support from mentors and program faculty.

Graduates are equipped with the skills needed to foster inclusive, equitable, and developmentally appropriate learning environments, ready to support the growth and development of all young learners.
