The Belmont University School of Education Strategic Leadership in Education is a multi-disciplinary, applied research-based PhD program for the development of senior level education-focused practicing scholars in P12, higher education, government, faith based and nonprofit organizations. The program equips leader-scholars from diverse backgrounds with knowledge, skills, and tools for strategic, entrepreneurial, data-informed, equity focused leadership. Program graduates will be equipped for advanced leadership and management opportunities in P12 schools, adult and higher education, education-oriented foundations, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, and government. The multidisciplinary approach of the program will provide leader-scholars with a foundation in educational leadership theory and literature, the practice of strategic leadership in education, and the opportunity to select a concentration that fits his or her research interests and personal career objectives.

Core Course Requirements: 24 Hours
Research Methodology: 12 Hours
Areas of Concentration: 15 Hours (minimum)
Candidate must choose one area of concentration and complete 3 courses listed within that concentration, as well as 2 approved elective courses. Management / Entrepreneurship
Faith and Justice Leadership
Total Required for the Program: 60 Hours (minimum)
