ARC 3043 Environmental Systems I: Passive Strategies

Prerequisites: ENV 1150  and ENV 1155  

Relationships between architecture and the environment, with an emphasis on passive systems for heating, cooling, and lighting buildings. How basic building design decisions and passive strategies influence building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort, while responding to climate change and sustainability goals across different climates. Broader sustainability considerations include life-cycle analysis and carbon footprint evaluation, in support of informed, performance-driven design decisions.
