ANM 2130 Character Design 3 Hours
Prerequisites: (ART 1030 and ANM 1030 ) or DES 2110
This course introduces students to the practice of character design through research, visual exploration, and applied storytelling. Students investigate how shape, language, proportion, expression, costuming, and color contribute to memorable characters across animation, games, and interactive media. Through iterative sketching, presentations, and critique, students develop characters that inhabit a clearly defined world and narrative context. The course culminates in a fully realized marquee character (or small cast) supported by professional presentation materials such as turnarounds, expression sheets, and design boards.
