ARC 4527 Architecture Studio VII: Comprehensive Design 6 Hours
Prerequisites: ARC 4026 Corequisites: ARC 4518
The course emphasizes design synthesis and full building integration through a semester-long architectural project that brings together learning from across the program. Students develop a comprehensive proposal that integrates structure, envelope, environmental systems, material assemblies, accessibility, safety, and regulatory considerations within complex programmatic and contextual conditions.
Through advanced iterative design and professional-level documentation, students demonstrate the ability to coordinate technical systems with conceptual intent and performance goals. The studio prepares graduates for entry into professional practice by requiring resolved architectural design that reflects critical judgment, ethical responsibility, and an understanding of architecture’s role in serving communities.
