The Internal Medicine Clerkship provides students with hands-on experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses in adult patients. Students will refine skills in history-taking, physical examination, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based management. The clerkship takes place in HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division, offering exposure to diverse inpatient and outpatient cases. Working alongside internists and multidisciplinary teams, students will enhance their ability to interpret diagnostic tests, recognize disease acuity, and coordinate care. By the end of the rotation, students will demonstrate proficiency in patient-centered communication, differential diagnosis, and comprehensive medical decision-making.
