MUP 5030 Vocal Pedagogy for Musical Theatre

This course is designed as an introductory musical theatre voice pedagogy course, which will provide students with an understanding of the foundations of singing and teaching of musical theatre singing. Students will explore vocalises and exercises for vocal development as well as age- and level- appropriate repertoire. Emphasis is placed upon expanding the knowledge in current literature, repertoire, diction, and teaching techniques specific to musical theatre voice pedagogy. Students will also lead discussions on various related topics in class.
