MUE 5010 Intro to Research in Music Education

This course will focus on the development of basic research competencies necessary for the ﬁeld of music education. Aimed at practicing teachers, students will be introduced to the conceptual underpinnings of major research paradigms including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodology. Mastery of course content will prepare students to develop, use, and effectively communicate empirically-based knowledge. A ﬁnal research project relating to the student’s capstone project will be required.
