LAW 6520 Legal Entrepreneurship

This course will introduce the fundamental concepts of entrepreneurship to law students in a way that enhances their understanding of their future clients, future employers and themselves. The course will focus on the key theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship and provide insights into entrepreneurial thinking and strategy. Specifically, students in the course will: learn about the entrepreneurial mindset and the start-up process in order to enable them to better understand and serve their business clients; utilize the “business model canvas” to evaluate existing businesses, plan and model new ventures, and vet strategic growth initiatives; apply entrepreneurial mindset and concepts to the legal industry in order to understand and optimize law firm management and growth; and embrace the concept of a ” solo-practitioner mindset,” regardless of intended career path, in order to thrive as an attorney.
