MHC 6501 Wealth, Poverty, & Justice

Prerequisites: MHC 6401 Â 

This course will examine, through the lens of Christian faith, the ways in which access to-and distribution of-justice in the United States is determined and shaped by the many social dynamics of wealth and poverty. Students will address questions like: What does modern Christian thought contriute or add to theoretical notions of economic justice? How does class identity affect the health and social wefare of individuals and groups, and what has been the response of American Christianity to the privileges and disparities of those impacts? Which inequalities and inequities that accompany social status in the United States are presently concerning for various American Christian traditions? Formerly listed as CTM 6501.
