LAW 6325 Experiential Learning Placement


2 Hours

Prerequisites: Basic Field Placement or Externship; AND Advanced Field Placement or Externship (OR Co-requisite below) Corequisites: Practical Issues Seminar

The Experiential Learning Placement course is a two-credit, stand-alone course designed for students who have already completed the Basic and Advanced experiential learning courses or who wish to participate in a credited experiential learning placement as part of a field clinic. Examples of Field Clinics include: Practical Issues in Criminal Law (paired with a criminal-law placement); Practical Issues in Poverty Law (paired with a public-interest placement); and Practical Issues in the Judiciary (paired with a judicial placement). Field Clinics require registration in the Experiential Learning Placement course, as well as the related one-hour seminar course. To earn two academic credits, students must successfully complete the requirements of the Experiential Learning Program, including, among other requirements: performance of at least 100 hours of work on site and completion of required documentation.

  Grade is pass/fail. May be repeated up to a maximum of 6 credit hours.
