SWK 6100 Advanced Practice with Groups

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with diverse groups in a variety of settings. The course will cover advanced group work theories and interventions, as well as ethical considerations and cultural responsiveness in group practice. Students will learn how to design, facilitate, and evaluate group work, and will also examine the impact of systems of oppression on individuals and groups. Emphasis will be placed on the process of forming, developing, and terminating groups and the importance of self-care and self-awareness in group work practice.
