SWK 6000 Advanced Practice with Individuals and Families 3 Hours
This course will provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings. The course covers advanced practice theories, interventions, and ethical considerations specific to working with individuals and families. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the impact of systems of oppression and discrimination on individuals, couples, and families and learning how to address these issues in practice. Students will also develop skills in culturally responsive practice, including understanding the unique perspectives and experiences of clients. The course will also cover self-care and self-awareness for the social worker.
