MDD 5110 Molecular and Cellular Foundations

Students will be immersed in the foundational sciences of biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, immunology, and physiology, as well as introductions to histology, pathology, biostatistics, and an introduction to research science. Accompanying the foundational sciences, students will be introduced to curricular threads including health equity, advocacy, literacy, education, and anti-racism; faith, ethics, and work; health systems; evidence-based medicine, and interprofessional education. Societal elements such as obesity and addiction will be interwoven into introductory cases. Students will also be introduced to core medical issues across the lifespan, introducing key concepts in preventative care and screening.
