PHT 5750 Experiential Learning

This course will introduce the student to the clinical environment through structured, interactive, learning experiences in order to develop the professional communication skills needed to successfully interact with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and community partners. The students will gain experience in performing the patient evaluation along with reinforcement of basic patient care skills such as vital signs, MMT, goniometry, transfers, gait training and therapeutic exercise. The development of writing skills for clear concise and accurate medical record documentation is emphasized. Teamwork skills will be introduced in the context of collaborative and cooperative interaction with various healthcare professionals.
