BELL Core Requirements: 53 Hours (minimum)


Major Electives: 9 Hours


No more than a total of 3 hours can be counted toward the Major Electives requirement from courses MTH 3000 , MTH 3050 , MTH 3990  and MTH 4990  without approval of the Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

  • Choose nine (9) hours from MTH 2240  or MTH courses 3000 level or higher.

Minor Requirements: 18 Hours


General Electives: 12 Hours (minimum)


Total Required for the Program: 128 Hours


*All math majors seeking licensure in grades 7-12 must take MTH 3110 Modern Geometry  as one of the two. Note additional Licensure requirements below **

**All math majors seeking licensure in grades 7-12 must take MTH 3210 Probability  and MTH 3130 History of Mathematics  as six of the nine elective hours.

Restrictions


  1. Courses with an asterisk (*) following the title will not count toward either a major or a minor in mathematics.
  2. French or German is recommended to fulfill language requirements for a B.A. degree in mathematics.
  3. A grade of C or better in a prerequisite course is necessary in order for the prerequisite to have been satisfied.
  4. Any deviation from the listed prerequisites must be approved by the Department Chair.
