BELL Core Requirements: 53 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirements
Technical requirements are support courses that may be needed as prerequisites for some courses within the major or to ensure thorough understanding of the content of the major. They may count towards the BELL Core Requirements , the requirements for a second major of minor, or they may count as free electives.

Additional Technical Requirement
Major Requirements: 34 Hours
Introductory Physics Options: 4 hours
Physics Research Sequence: 6 Hours
Additional Physics Courses: 9 Hours
At least 9 hours of PHY electives from 2200-level or higher, up to 3 hours of elective credit may be in the form of independent studies and/or research with approval by the chair.
Minor Requirements: 18 Hours
A minor in math (10 additional hours above the general education and technical requirements) is strongly encouraged for all physics majors, especially students planning to attend graduate school. Other minors may be chosen; the number of free electives and/or minor hours may vary based on the chosen minor. General Electives: 23 Hours (minimum)
