A minor in Cinema & Television Studies fosters analytic and communication skills which will benefit students from other diverse majors, and in their future careers. Writing and research skills, analysis of visual narrative, and an understanding of current and classical film theory will be emphasized. A minor in Cinema & Television Studies helps create students who are proficient in research, analytical writing, and data analysis. Students become familiar with national and international film history and will be able to display basic knowledge of key movements, genres, and styles. Minors in this program become acquainted with the artistic, political, industrial, and cultural effects of film and television production. Upon completion, students will demonstrate a knowledge of basic film theory and the ability to analyze cinema and television, in both contemporary and historical contexts.
