The Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in music combines a broad coverage of the field of music with an intensive liberal arts curriculum. Students in this degree are prepared to pursue graduate study in areas of music for which a general music background is appropriate.

BELL Core Requirements: 53 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirement:
Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core Requirements. Major Core Requirements: 28 Hours
Ensembles: 6 Hours
- MUN ____ 6 hours (minimum)
All music majors must enroll in at least one for-credit ensemble during each semester of study, even if minimum degree requirements for ensembles have been met. Applied Music Studies: 22 Hours
Applied Study: 16 Hours
- MPA 22__ Applied Classical Lessons 2 hours (4 semesters)
- MPA 42__ Applied Classical Lessons 2 hours (4 semesters)
Literature and Pedagogy: 3 hours
Wind/String/Percussion Principals:
Music Electives: 3 Hours
Music courses as approved by advisor. Minor: 18 Hours
Any 18 hour approved minor in an area outside of music. See department of the minor for requirements. General Electives: 11 Hours (minimum)
Total Required for the Program: 132 Hours
