The Musical Theatre Major is designed for students who exhibit exceptional performance potential in musical theatre. This degree program provides concentrated study in music and singing, augmented by studies in acting and dance for students interested in pursuing performance careers in musical theatre.

BELL Core Requirements: 38 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirements:
Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core Requirements. Major Core Requirements: 18 Hours
Ensembles: 6 Hours

All music majors must enroll in at least one for-credit ensemble during each semester of study, even if minimum degree requirements for ensembles have been met. Musical Theatre Major: 19 Hours
Other Music Courses: 5 Hours
Musical Theatre Applied Performance Studies: 62 Hours
Applied Principal (Vocal): 20 Hours
- MPA 2201 Applied Classical Voice 2 hours (4 semesters)
- MPA 4301 Applied Classical Voice 3 hours (4 semesters)
- MPR 3090 Half Recital Musical Theatre 0 hours
- MPR 4090 Full Recital Musical Theatre 0 hours
Ensembles: 2 Hours

11 hours of DAN credit required; 1 hour counted in BELL Core under Wellness requirement. Select courses in at least three (3) different styles from the following (Students must take level II and level III courses in at least two different dance styles): General Electives: 6 Hours (minimum)
