The Major in Church Music provides training for those interested in careers in music and worship ministry incorporating diverse musical styles and methodologies. Students pursuing this major choose either a traditional applied performance track (in which all private study is classical in nature) or an integrative track (which includes private study in both classical and commercial styles). The major is appropriate preparation for graduate study in church music at the seminary/graduate school level.

BELL Core Requirements: 38 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirements:
Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core Requirements. Major Core Requirements: 18 Hours
Class Piano: 4 Hours
Note: This requirement waived and four (4) hours added to general electives for piano/keyboard principals only. Ensembles: 6 Hours

All music majors must enroll in at least one for-credit ensemble during each semester of study, even if minimum degree requirements for ensembles have been met. Church Music Major: 37 Hours
Other Required Music Courses: 2 Hours
Church Music Performance Studies: 27 Hours
Applied Principal: 16 Hours

- MPA 42__ Applied Classical Lessons 2 hours (4 semesters)
- MPR 30_ Half Music Recital 0 Hours
Integrative Track:
- MPA 22__ Applied Classical Lessons 2 hours (4 semesters)
- MPA 41__ Applied Classical Lessons 1 hours (4 semesters)
- MPA 21__ Applied Commercial Lessons 1 hours (4 semesters)

Voice & Guitar Principals Add:
