The Master of Arts with a major in Media & Entertainment is designed for individuals seeking knowledge about and desiring to develop skills within the global media- and entertainment- related industries. Students applying to the Media & Entertainment program typically would have completed an undergraduate degree in media, communications, music, business, creative, entertainment, audio and recording arts, or a related field. Graduates of this program will likely pursue employment or advancement within the creative, content development, managerial, and promotional sectors of the global media- and entertainment-related industries or continue academic or professional studies in post-graduate terminal degree programs (Ph.D., J.D., Ed.D, D.A.). The goals of the Media & Entertainment program are to prepare students for academic and career success.
The MA in Media & Entertainment will consist of a 30-credit degree that includes courses in media & entertainment theory, industry practices & critical analysis. Students will learn about the latest trends and technologies in the industry, as well as the cultural and economic contexts that shape the media & entertainment economy. The curriculum will include a professional core (21 credits) with electives (9 credits) that provide a foundation in media & entertainment industry practices with an opportunity to specialize in an area of professional interest.
