The publishing program prepares students to become practitioners in the competitive field of trade book publishing by engaging them in relevant course work and in real-world experiences. Magazine publishing and library systems are also explored within the major.

BELL Core Requirements: 55 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirements:
Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core or as General Electives.
Publishing Major: 40 Hours
Complete the M&E core, the PUB core, a selected track, and major electives.
Media & Entertainment Core: 9 Hours
Complete the following courses:
Publishing Professional Core Requirements: 12 Hours
Select one of the Publishing Tracks:
Editorial Track: 10 Hours
Marketing and Publicity Track: 10 Hours
Minor requirements: 18 Hours
General Electives: 15 Hours (minimum)
Total Required for the Program: 128 Hours
