The social media management major is designed for aspiring communication professionals who will be able to support an organization’s strategic communication efforts through a specialization in social media. As social media continues to reshape the way individuals and organizations connect and communicate, social media managers will share in the communication leadership on behalf of their clients or organizations. The program curriculum is rooted in relationship building and strategic planning, research and analytics, content creation, engagement and community management as well as ethics, law and leadership. Students are prepared to think strategically, solve problems creatively and communicate purposefully using current and emerging social media.

BELL Core Requirements: 53 Hours (minimum)

Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core or as General Electives.

Core Requirements: 24 Hours
