Psychological Science employs the scientific method to study behavior, brain, and cognitive processes in humans and animals. It is an integrative discipline that encompasses diverse topics and subdisciplines including social, health, clinical, social, cognitive, and developmental psychology just to name a few. The curriculum is empircally oriented and is based on the American Psychological Association undergraduate learning goals and objectives.The community of learning involves student-faculty research collaborations, practicum experiences, and working in laboratories in a hands-on learning environment. The solid grounding in research methodology along with an emphasis on quantitative and analytical skills prepares students for entry into graduate and professional education as well as diverse workforce careers.

BELL Core Requirements: 53 Hours (minimum)
Technical Requirements
Technical Requirements are courses identified by the program as required courses and will count in the BELL Core or as General Electives.
Major requirements: 38 Hours
Group 1 labs: Four hours chosen from the following: 4 hours
Group 2 labs: Four hours chosen from the following: 4 hours
Group 3 labs: Four hours chosen from the following: 4 hours
Professional Development: 2 hours
Choose 2 of the following courses, one of which must be PSY 4340 or PSY 4000
Diversity/Equity/Inclusion Elective: 3 hours
Chose 1 class from the following courses
Developmental Elective: 3 Hours
Psychology Electives: 12 Hours
12 hours to be chosen from the courses listed below or any of the above courses not used to fulfill a requirement.
Minor Requirements: 18 Hours
General Electives: 19 Hours (minimum)
Total Required for the Program: 128 Hours
* (Only three (3) hours of Special Studies or Practicum may be counted toward requirements in the major or minor)
