The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fashion Design prepares graduates to compete successfully in the demanding fashion industry. In a studio-based environment, faculty, who have extensive industry knowledge, provide practical skills and experiential learning while focusing on central subjects in design, textiles, product development process, sustainability, and the business of fashion. Through hand- and technology-based skills, coursework, and extra-curricular activities the curriculum stresses the values of need-based design, collaboration, community service, cultural globalization, and professional ethics. Students are prepared for career opportunities in the areas of apparel and costume design, product development, digital and technical design, creative direction, accessory design, 3D technology, and fashion entrepreneurship.
