MTH 1210 Calculus I 4 Hours
CSM 4015 Senior Capstone 1 Hours

Major Tool Courses: 7 Hours

MTH 1151 Elementary Statistics for the Sciences 3 Hours
MTH 1160 Data Analysis Lab for the Sciences 1 Hours
CSC 1020 Inquiry Through Computer Science 3 Hours
or
CSC 1110 Programming I 3 Hours

Major Requirements: 31 Hours

At least two of the following: 6 Hours

MTH 4120 Introduction to Analysis 3 Hours
MTH 4140 Abstract Algebra 3 Hours
MTH 4610 Advanced Topics in Mathematics 3 Hours

Major Electives: 9 Hours

No more than a total of 3 hours can be counted toward the Major Electives requirement from courses MTH 3000 , MTH 3050 , MTH 3990 and MTH 4990 without approval of the Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

Choose nine hours from MTH 2240 or courses 3000 level or above.

Minor Requirements: 18 Hours

General Electives: 15 Hours (minimum)

*All math majors seeking licensure in grades 7-12 must take MTH 3110 Modern Geometry as one of the two. Note additional Licensure requirements below **

**All math majors seeking licensure in grades 7-12 must take MTH 3210 Probability and MTH 3130 History of Mathematics as six of the nine elective hours.

Restrictions

Courses with an asterisk (*) following the title will not count toward either a major or a minor in mathematics.
French or German is recommended to fulfill language requirements for a B.A. degree in mathematics.
A grade of C or better in a prerequisite course is necessary in order for the prerequisite to have been satisfied.
Any deviation from the listed prerequisites must be approved by the Department Chair.
