This course delves into the historical, ethical, and policy foundations that shape social work practice. This course prepares students to develop their framework for social work practice that is anti-racist, anti-oppressive, reflective, and focused on seeking justice. In this course, students will examine the major fields of practice in the profession, and critically reflect on the development of social welfare policies, their historical contexts, and the ethical principles guiding social work interventions.
