CSC 2080 Introduction to Cybersecurity

Prerequisites: CSC 1110 - Programming I OR BSA 2050 Introduction to Programming

This course will explore the social and organizational skills as well as technical understanding of cybersecurity. An overview of practical security problems will be explored and students will identify a balance between real-world risks and rewards against the overhead cost of available security techniques via case studies.  Topics will include system and network security, basic cryptography concepts, common attacks, threat and vulnerabilities, mitigation techniques, risk management, and enterprises’ legal and ethical issues.
