ART 1040 Figure Drawing I 3 Hours
Prerequisites: ART 1030
The human figure is a quintessential example of understanding form and the functions of movement in drawing. This course will introduce the many diverse representations and applications of the human figure throughout art history and contemporary practices. Students will begin with the basic simple armature and its relationship to gesture, balance and proportion employing schema variations to block out form. Emphasis will be placed on discovering and replicating the physical characteristics of the human figure as a means of introducing the primary vocabulary of drawing elements using the draped and undraped model. $100.00 course fee.
