Prerequisites: SWK 3210 , SWK 3700 , and SWK 3820
The signature pedagogy of the Social Work degree is the field experience. Students will complete 225 clock hours of field instruction, supervised by a professional social worker in a local agency. This course helps to continue to strengthen the development of the generalist social work practitioner and the use of self.
The accompanying seminar meets weekly. The seminar is designed to provide a supportive environment for processing the field experience. Students will discuss how they are applying their knowledge, skills, and abilities to practice situations in their field experiences as they work toward mastery of professional Social Work competencies.
