EDU 4685 Assessment for Decision Making in Special Education 3 Hours
Prerequisites: EDU 3630 and EDU 3800
This course provides teacher candidates with the knowledge and skills to utilize informal and formal assessment tools to identify the strengths and needs of students with mild/moderate disabilities. Course content focuses on the knowledge and skills necessary for selecting, administering, interpreting and reporting results of tests related to cognitive, affective, psychomotor and social development. Emphasis is given to translating assessment data into making informed educational decisions to develop assessment plans and Individualized Assessment Programs (IEPs) to support student progress in the general curriculum. This course also contains approximately 20 hours of field experience.
